Term of Membership
Monthly Recurring Memberships
Memberships are available for a monthly fee of $15 per month per person plus tax, auto-deducted each month by electronic funds transfer. The fee will be deducted each month on the same day of the month that the member initially enrolled. The member shall agree to a minimum of three months’ enrollment, but auto-deduct shall continue automatically each month after the initial enrollment period unless member submits written cancellation with 30 days' notice to email@example.com. Should the member decide to cancel membership before the initial three months, the remaining balance for the first three months’ membership shall be charged. Any changes in monthly membership rates will be communicated in writing to the member email address on file at least 30 days in advance. After the first three months, members may cancel monthly recurring memberships with 30 days’ written notice to firstname.lastname@example.org before the monthly payment date. Should the member rejoin at a later date, the initial 3-month requirement shall apply, along with any applicable sign-up fee at the time of re-joining. Member is responsible for communicating any change in credit/debit card information (including card number, expiration date, CVV, etc.) to email@example.com and may be subject to a service fee for declined payments.
Upfront Annual Memberships
Members have the option of purchasing an annual membership for $150 plus tax, paid in a one-time payment by credit or debit card. The upfront annual membership is valid for one year from the date of purchase, and will automatically renew on the same date each year. Any cancellations must be submitted in writing by email to firstname.lastname@example.org at least 7 days in advance.
All members must check in with staff at the front desk of the Aquatic Center before entering the facility. The member must provide his/her name and a photo ID. Memberships may not be shared or transferred.
Members may swim during posted “open” hours. Members may not enter the facility during before or after-hours private rentals (such as early morning swim team practice or private classes). Lap and recreational swimmers may not swim in laps designated as “reserved” or in any pools designated as “closed.” Members may only swim in open pools with a lifeguard on duty.
Minors may be listed as dependents on an adult's account, but may not be a primary account holder. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult member to use the facility and must be under the supervision of the adult at all times.
Members may bring guests. Guests will be required to pay the day pass fee.
Private and semi-private lessons are available through SELA Aquatics throughout the entire year. Registration for lessons must be completed through the facility website. Members are strictly prohibited from bringing their own instructors to the pool to provide lessons. This includes instructors providing free lessons.
Facility and Pool Rules
- For your safety, follow the instructions of facility management and lifeguards.
- All members and visitors must refrain from inappropriate conduct towards other members and facility staff, including but not limited to, offensive, demeaning, or abusive language, profanity, or any conduct that is offensive or bothersome to other members or employees.
- Alcohol, tobacco, and firearms are not allowed.
- No food or drink is allowed in the pool.
- Proper swim attire is required. Please shower before entering the pool.
- No diving in the shallow end. Starting blocks are for use by swim teams during practice.
- Children under the age of 12 and any children who cannot swim must comply with facility’s policy on approved flotation devices.
- No mermaid tails or large rafts are allowed.
- Snorkels may only be used by adults swimming laps.
- No swimming underneath or between the bulkhead. Do not walk on the bulkhead.
- Walk, do not run.
- No underwater breath-holding.
- Do not hang on the lane ropes.
- Serious or repeated violations of rules may result in suspension or termination of membership.
Please be courteous and share lanes during busy times. When sharing a lane, swim in a counterclockwise pattern, staying to the right. Lap swimmers may not use lanes reserved for groups.
All specialty training programs, youth programs/groups, clubs associated with USA Swimming, and US Masters Swimming require a rental agreement with the management of UNO Lakefront Arena Aquatic Center. All other individuals require a membership to use the facility.
It is the responsibility of the member to communicate to the facility management any changes in mailing address, phone number, email address, or payment information. Should the member’s payment method decline or have insufficient funds for a recurring payment, the member shall be subject to a $25 service fee.The management uses email addresses to communicate information to members and does not sell or rent email addresses to any third party. Members may send updated information to email@example.com.
No refunds are issued for any unused portion of any membership.
SELA Aquatics does not carry participant insurance. The undersigned is encouraged to have a medical physical examination and purchase health insurance prior to any and all participation in physical activity.
The undersigned assumes all risks involved with or arise out of the use of the equipment or facilities, the activity itself, the acts of others, omission of an act or the unavailability of emergency care, including but not limited to the risk of bodily injury, property damage, or death. Exception being any injuries caused by the sole or gross negligence, or willful or wanton misconduct on behalf of any officials, officers, employees, or agents of SELA Aquatics.
The undersigned shall indemnify, defend and hold harmless both the University of New Orleans and SELA Aquatics, their affiliates, officers, agents, employees, volunteers and insurers from and against all costs (including, but not limited to, reasonable attorneys' fees and litigation costs), claims, disputes, litigation and judgments, whether alleging bodily injury, property damage, economic loss, or any other harm, which arise from or in connection with
(i) use of the Facilities and Equipment under this Agreement;
(ii) actions of member on or near the Facilities and Equipment as a result of member’s use of the Facilities and Equipment
(iii) injuries to the persons or property of member on or near the Facilities and Equipment as a result of member’s use of the Facilities and Equipment under this Agreement.
